Five local cafés to celebrate National Cappuccino Day and find the latest issue of  The Buzz Book

National Cappuccino Day on Sunday, November 8, is a good excuse to meet a friend for coffee or discover a new favorite café. Inspired by Kennedy Grohnke’s Fall 2026 coffee crawl, we’re visiting four local shops, each in a different Greater Toledo neighborhood or community. Each is also a Buzz Book distribution location, so look for a copy to enjoy with your coffee.

A cappuccino combines espresso, steamed milk, and milk foam. If your usual order is a latte or cold brew, consider trying the classic—or ask your barista which drink best showcases the coffee they’re serving.

Chandler Café in Downtown Sylvania

5648 N. Main Street, Sylvania

Make Chandler your meeting place for a morning in downtown Sylvania. Located in the historic Chandler building, the café offers coffee, pastries, sandwiches, and salads. Pair your cup with something to eat, then leave time to browse nearby shops. It’s an easy way to turn a quick coffee date into a relaxed local outing, with plenty of reasons to linger along Main Street.

SIP Coffee in Cricket West

3160 Markway Road, Toledo

One of Kennedy’s original picks, SIP is a stop for a catch-up with a friend or a calm start to the day. On her visit, she ordered an iced latte with coconut syrup and described it as a great balance of sweet and smooth. Bring a friend who enjoys trying a different flavor, or settle in with your own familiar favorite and a little time to unwind.

Maddie & Bella Coffee Roasters

44 S. St. Clair Street, Toledo
117 Louisiana Ave, Perrysburg

For a downtown Toledo coffee date, visit Maddie & Bella’s Warehouse District shop. The local roaster’s menu includes cappuccinos, cortados, and lattes, with house-made syrups among the options. Kennedy also highlighted the toast and pastries in her original feature. Order a small bite alongside your drink, then make the surrounding downtown part of your outing.

The Flying Joe in Perrysburg

2110 Preston Parkway, Perrysburg

In Perrysburg, The Flying Joe offers specialty coffee, scratch-made baked goods, and breakfast sandwiches. Its espresso, latte, and tea options give your group room to choose different favorites. Plan a coffee-and-breakfast date here, or make it a leisurely stop before the rest of your weekend plans. It’s a chance to catch up over something from the kitchen while everyone finds a drink they enjoy.

You don’t need to visit all four in one day. Choose a neighborhood to explore, or spread your crawl across several weekends. Check current hours and menus before heading out, especially on Sunday, and leave time to enjoy your drink. Look for The Buzz Book while you’re there for more local ideas to take home.

Which stop would you choose first—and what’s your go-to coffee order?
